North Buckhead has experienced wave after wave of development for over a hundred years.  We've evolved from a rural community of only a few homes set on large estates, through the spacious suburbs and cottages of the 1930's and 40's, to denser development with ranches and split levels in the 1950's and 60's. (Click here for some photos of older days).  The past two decades have witnessed extensive rebuilding and even replacement of older homes from the ground up.  We've seen the redevelopment of larger tracts through infill building, and the construction of many townhomes and condominiums.  And North Buckhead's

skyline now rivals that of major cities around the globe.  Our commercial district is bristling with gleaming new office and residential towers.

We've adapted to a massive toll way pushed through the neighborhood, and welcomed the arrival of rail transit.  We've also witnessed  tremendous growth in the office and retail sectors. Many of us can look out our windows and see a glittering skyline of high-rise offices and residential towers.  Our schools and churches are the pride of Atlanta.  Today more than ever, as the images below demonstrate, North Buckhead is an amazingly dynamic urban community of tremendous diversity.
